“ I you go to Franciscan Well for a beer (which I highly recommend) you gotta step out back and try one of Pompeii’s Pizzas. I don’t know if it’s the wood fire oven, a secret recipe or maybe just because you’re in Ireland but it’s some damn good pizza. Couldn’t decide which to get so as I normally do, I asked the pizza man for his recommendation. Nduja, yea that’s the one. Little bit of spice or kick to it. Sitting in Ireland drinking my Rebel Red and eating my wood fire oven pizza…… chit man, life is good. Give it a whirl and tell them the bald headed American sent ya! ”

“ Pompeii Pizza is located in the large beer garden at the rear of the Franciscan Well Bar. They are a little gem offering a variety of delicious freshly made to wood oven pizzas with staff know what they are doing! My personal favourites are the "Margherita Irlandese" or the "Salsiccia"! The wood fired oven and the staff's expert knowledge delieve pizzas with a brilliant crispy and a perfectly puffed up edge/crust. The centre is lovely and gooey with the fresh cheese and the base holds its shape however, its not the most rigid sometimes. One thing to note is that the edge/crust can be a bit charred and that might not be to everyone's liking however, I don't mind it! Update 26-Aug-2023: My Fiancé ordered the Garlic bread and she got them to drizzle some balsamic vinegar over it, it was delicious! If you are not feeling a whole pizza I highly recommend getting the garlic bread as a small snack! On location: If you are planning on dining in the Fran Well Pompeii will give you a buzzer so that you can return to your table while you wait. You'll know that your pizza is ready when the bizzer lights up constantly and starts vibrating! Delivery: Pompeii Pizza is in partnership with Deliveroo and can be ordered off of the Deliveroo App which makes it handy if you are not feeling going out but still want that wood fired pizza taste! Wheelchair Accessibility: The beer garden is very spacious with plenty of space to maneuver around tables for wheelchair users. However, as I am not a wheeel chair user myself, I am not entirely sure where the wheelchair entrance is located in the beer garden. It is also worth noting that I have not noticed a wheelchair friendly toilet in the Fran Well but hopefully I am wrong! Overall: I have to say there is nothing better than a cold beer from the Fran Well and a fresh Pompeii pizza! ”

“ Hidden away in the beer garden of the Franciscan Well pub is a great little pizza spot that deserves to be tried when in Cork! Choose one of the many options (that include veggie and vegan options), have a seat with your pint from the pub and wait until the buzzer rings. Simple and delicious! The crust had a nice chew and a lovely charred flavour which I really enjoyed! ”

“ Genuinely one of the top 5 pizzas I’ve ever had, their piccola diavola is amazing, the chilli honey is so sweet and it’s cooked perfectly. Stunning food. Smash. ”

“ The place is basically inside the pub. To be honest, we took the pizza only because we didn't want to drink the beer without eating. The guys inside were very nice, and after tasting a garlic bread made with the pizza dough, we tried the pizza itself. Well, I'm not into napolitan style of pizza, but this was one of the best I tried. The only suggestion I give to this people is to cook it a little slower to burn the yeasts a little bit more, but the taste was flawless. Also, they don't put ananas on pizza, even if you ask. Good work guys, godspeed. ”
